Martyr Nikandr Egyptian

St. Martyr Nikandr Egyptian

St. Martyr Nikandr suffered in Egypt in the time of Emperor Diocletian (284 - 305).

He was a doctor and in the time of persecution St. Martyr visited Christians being in prison, treated, fed them and buried their dead bodies.

One day he came to the place where were thrown dead bodies of killed martyrs to be eaten up by wild animals. At night he buried bodies because he feared to do it in the daytime.

St. Nikandr was noticed. He was put to the terrible tortures: torturers strip the skin off St. Martyr and then beheaded.
